Every school must, by law, have a governing body.  The number of governors is determined by the size and type of school.  The governors meet regularly to ensure that the school is providing quality education.

School governors are made up of:

• Parent governors
• Teachers and non-teaching staff
• Co-opted governors
• Local authority appointed governors
• Headteacher
