We admit up to 60 reception children each year, with part-time provision for 60 children in the Nursery.
The school operates a single point of entry to Nursery and Reception Class in September.
- Children enter Nursery in the academic year in which they become 4
- Children enter Reception in the academic year in which they become 5
All children may start at the beginning of the September term. We do not arrange to phase in our Reception intake. But a phased start to the year may be appropriate for younger pupils and can be considered if this is what parents feel is best for their child.
- The school follows the current Local Authority Starting School Policy.
You will be sent a booklet about this, together with general information about all the primary schools in your area, when your child is about 3 years old. The booklet contains a form where you can indicate your preference of school.
If you are not offered a place in the school, you may appeal to the Local Education Authority. However, there is currently no right of appeal for nursery education.
During the term before your child starts Nursery or school, you will be invited to a welcome meeting where you will receive a 'Welcome Pack' and offered lots of other information and a trial visit.
There will be similar meetings and starter sessions for children starting in the Reception Classes so that they are well prepared for their start at full time school.
